Welcome!

I am Assistant Professor of Entertainment Engineering & Design (EED) in the Howard R. Hughes College of Engineering at the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV). I am running the Digital Experience Lab (DEX Lab). I joined the EED program in August 2014 to conduct interdisciplinary projects with a goal of providing novel user experiences in the field of human-computer interactions and entertainment technologies.

Designing interactive media based on the theories and principles of human factors and human-computer interactions is my specialty with more than 10 years of extensive experience. I have multidisciplinary backgrounds from my education in HCI and Human Factors (PhD), Computer Engineering & Science (MS), and Electronic/Mechatronics Engineering (BS) as well as from my professional experience with Samsung Electronics, Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), and HP Labs, Palo Alto (Intern). More information about me including projects is available for viewing at http://filebox.vt.edu/~hikim.
