The Sex-Differentiated and Translational Research in Eating, Anxiety, and Mood (STREAM) Lab is directed by Dr. Kristen Culbert.
The STREAM Lab aims to examine the etiology and maintenance of eating pathology and comorbid conditions (e.g., mood, anxiety), with a particular emphasis on elucidating the interplay between biological, psychological, and environmental influences. Animal and human methodologies are used to explore biological and environmental risk and protective factors that contribute to between-sex and within-sex differences in eating and emotional difficulties across the lifespan. It is our hope that illuminating important etiologic mechanisms will reveal novel ways to prevent these psychological difficulties and serve to inform the development of more effective interventions.
