Should We Risk It? Information

Several years ago, Dan Kammen and I put together Should We Risk It? Exploring Environmental, Health and Technological Problem Solving. We did this because we found that while there are dozens of books out on risk analysis, none fit either our needs as risk educators or the needs of folks who want to learn some of the methods from scratch. The book has done well, and we are encouraged to hear from folks around the world who have used it, from a high school class in rural Georgia to graduate courses at major public health schools. With the massive efforts of Dr. Toshihiko Nakata, it is now available in Japanese.

Both Kammen and Hassenzahl are available for guest lectures and seminars (either would, for example, fly off to Japan at the drop of a hat!)

Should We Risk It can be ordered directly from Princeton University Press, and is also available from most booksellers. In keeping with our philosophy, we asked PUP to keep the price as low as possible: the paperback lists at $24.95.

Thanks to the heroic efforts of Dr. Toshihiko Nakata, SWRI is now available in Japanese, with a dedicated website. This is the same as the paperback edition, i.e. errata from the hardback English version did not make it into the Japanese version. It is published by Springer-Verlag Tokyo, and is available from Amazon.com Japan. I believe the list price is 3,900 Yen.
