Welcome to The Lab!
Welcome to the home page of the lab of Dr. Andrew Andres, associate professor at the School of Life Sciences at the University Of Nevada - Las Vegas. Here you can learn more about Dr. Andres and his current research, as well as his team of graduates and undergraduates. You can also view the protocols for everyday use, as well as upcoming events in the lab. Please feel free to look around!
Drosophila melanogaster: the organism of choice!
Here in the Andres Lab, the fruit fly, Drosophila melanogaster, is used as a model genetic system to investigate the molecular details of how cell-signaling pathways function during development and aging in animals. Our lab is currently focused on two major areas of research: steroid signaling and Notch signaling. You can learn more about both on Dr. Andres's page.
