My Own Story
When I began looking into going back to school, I thought I had to relocate because I lived 90 miles from the nearest university and because I’d never taken a distance learning class. I am pleased to admit that I was wrong.
During my time as a student in the MS PTC (Professional and Technical Communication) program at NJIT (New Jersey Institute of Technology) I learned that I was not the only non-typical student. Everyone has a story. Mine was that I was going to school full-time; I put myself on a “fast-track” so I could get back to work with updated skills. I did realize my goals, and I’ve set new ones. I’m now working on my dissertation in the Public Affairs Ph.D. program at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
I hope that by reading the information found on this site, you will be inspired to take steps forward on your own path of lifelong education — whether it be online or on-site. I’ve learned that it is never too late, and that it can be gratifying.
