Website Accounts
The Faculty Web Server is available to individual faculty and staff members who wish to publish information about how the individual faculty member is meeting the teaching, research, and service missions of the University. UNLV faculty members who would like to create a website for university purposes, such as promoting research or a class, can apply for an account.
Faculty websites are hosted by the Office of Information Technology (OIT).

Types of Accounts
Ready Made Pages
The Office of Information Technology has pre-made websites available for you. You will not need to produce your own graphics and HTML, or buy special software. Just add your Vita, classes or research highlights. Take a look at available themes and designs to decide if this is the right choice for you.
DIY Pages
We supply the server space, and you provide everything else. For more information on creating your own content check out these pages:
Updating Account Information
To change the password on an existing web account, or to transfer ownership of an account, please contact the IT Help Desk at 895-0777.
Naming Convention
The URL for your webpages will conform to this convention: http://faculty.unlv.edu/accountname, where accountname is something chosen by you, the account owner. We suggest that you use a string made from the your first initial and last name. An account owned by John Smith following this convention would have the url: http://faculty.unlv.edu/jsmith/.
