GRADING POLICY

There will be five  (40 minutes) quizzes, a (75 minutes) midterm exam, and a (2 hours) final exam. The lowest quiz will be dropped. Each quiz is worth 10%, and each exam is worth 30%. The midterm exam is mainly based upon chapters 6 – 7, and the final exam is based on the rest chapters and sections.

Grades will be assigned on the basis of total 100 points, distributed as follows:

Four quizzes out of five 10% each, total 40%
Two exams 30% each, total 60%
Total 100

In addition, there will be 5 extra points directly coming from the in-class participation sheet to upgrade your final overall grade, eventually.

Final course letter grades will be assigned according to the following rule:

A 95-100
A- 90-94
B+ 85-89
B 80-84
C+ 75-79
C 70-74
D 60-69
F 0-59
