GRADING POLICY

There will be six  (55 minutes) quizzes, a  (105 minutes)  midterm exam, and a (2 hours) final exam. The lowest two quizzes will be dropped. Each quiz is worth 10%, and each exam is worth 30%. The midterm exam will be based on chapters 6 – 7 and the final exam will be on chapters 8 – 9.

Grades will be assigned on the basis of total 100 points, distributed as follows:

Four quizzes out of six 10% each, total 40%
Two exams 30% each, total 60%
Total 100

In addition, there will be 10% extra points directly coming from the in-class performance of answering questions, and are going to be used for upgrading the overall grade.

Final course letter grades will be assigned as follows:

A 95-100
A- 90-94
B+ 87-89
B 84-86
B- 80-83
C+ 77-79
C 74-76
C- 70-73
D+ 67-69
D 64-66
D- 60-63
F 0-59
