Homage to Andre Breton:
Andre Breton was a foremost thinker and founder of the surrealist movement and its associated style in the visual arts.
This project explores the concept and style of surrealism. For this project students utilize four grids—three small and one large to construct their surrealistic imagery. Using the three smaller grids the student creates images without thinking about them to plum the depths of subconscious thought. In the larger grid the student then reverts back to their usual, conscious way of creating visual imagery.
