Robert Frank is one of my favorite photographers. His
book, The Americans is a classic photo-essay of his road trip across
America back in the 1950s. This particular photo of three roadside crosses
portrays a darkside to the car-culture of the United States. I too have
taken images of roadside memorials and crosses of all sorts.
