Who is Dr. Lachniet?

Dr. Lachniet is a geologist who focuses on research into understanding the Earth's climate system, and is the Undergraduate Coordinator for the Department of Geosciences at UNLV. Dr. Lachniet has taught eight courses at UNLV including Environmental Geology, Geomorphology, Isotope Geochemistry, Paleoclimatology, and Quaternary Seminar. Dr. Lachniet has extensive experience in Physical Geography, and has conducted research in far-flung locations on Earth, including Alaska, Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama, Brazil, and Bolivia. He is the author of more than sixteen articles in the scientific literature. Dr. Lachniet earned his Ph.D. (2001) from Syracuse University in New York, his M.S. (1997) from Michigan State University, and his undergraduate degree (1995) at Antioch College in Ohio, and was later a postdoctoral researcher for the Smithsonian Institution in Panamá City, Panamá, and at UMass-Amherst.
