RESPONSE ESSAY 2
Write a 2-page paper reacting to the material presented in Sections 166a-168c (pp. 33-36) of Plato's Theaetetus, paying particular attention to Sections 166d-167d.
Although this is a "Response Essay", I don't want to read about how you feel about the reading. Rather, aim to do the following sorts of things:
- Explain what is going on in this particular part of the dialogue.
- In your own words, characterize as clearly as you can the issue being raised, and the challenge being posed.
- Analyze the point--Why is this issue important to the larger discussion? How is it a challenge? What response to the challenge is developed, and how is it supposed to work as a response?
- Evaluate the response--Do you think it works? Explain why or why not.
- Identify further questions that can be raised about the issue under consideration, in light of your assessment of what is said in these Sections.
Be sure to look at my Paper Requirements and Policies.
Keep your paper within the 2-page limit!
Your paper is due in my mailbox on Monday, February 3rd by 3pm.
