ALBANIAN

Albanian, like Armenian, stands alone as the single language in its group. It is not attested to until the fifteenth century CE, by which time it had been influenced heavily by Turkish, Slavic, Greek, and Latin. Because Albania occupies a portion of ancient Illyria , it has been suggested that Albanian is a descendant of Illyrian, but that language is attested to only in a handful of proper names, so no definite link can be established.
