You can read a general summary of the case for seeing Corded Ware culture as being Indo-European (although the text seems to imply an "invasive" quality). A short but cogent linguistic argument for the Indo-European roots of the Corded Ware culture is worth reading. Both of these sites should be tempered by an excellent, balanced statement about the emergence of Germanic. An enthusiasts' site, Wodensharrow, and the Germanic Heritage Page both provide many links (some of which should be approached with caution). You can also read a good historical overview of the Germanic languages.

A game site provides a good summary of the Goths. You can read about their relations with the Roman Empire, or view Gothic artwork. For the Burgundians, read their history or view their art. You can read an encyclopedia entry on the Franks, or view Frankish art. For the devotee, read Gregory of Tours' medieval History of the Franks in an English translation. There is a detailed on-line history of the Vandals. For the Vikings, you might begin with an elaborate site maintained by Nova. You can also read a scholarly overview on the Swedish Vikings. Two good sites for links are HistoryNet and the Viking Home Page.
