Opportunities for Graduate Students

The Department of Biological Sciences at UNLV is a friendly department with excellent opportunities in many areas of biology. The department has several strengths which complement my research interests. In particular, the department has a growing microbiology group and a strong systematics and biogeography group. Graduate students in the lab can expect to benefit from interactions with both groups, as well as from other members of the department. My research often draws on the unique and often uncharacterized regional biota.

I am currently looking for graduate students. If you're interested don't hesitate to contact me by phone (702-895-0809) or email (brian.hedlund@unlv.edu). Please take note that it is best to get your graduate application in by January 15th for full consideration for funding resources; however, later applications are still encouraged. Consult the department's web page for official information about the application process (http://biology.unlv.edu/).
