Without a doubt, this is a coolest of Google's many iterations on the Internet! Google Earth is a global map/photograph depiction that uses real-time satellite images. Zoom in on your own house or just about any other place on earth. |

With thousands of books now in the public domain, Project Gutenberg is the oldest of the free, online libraries of downloadable full-text books. All the real work of scanning, transcribing and uploading is done by hundreds of volunteers who are dedicated to the simple and powerful proposition that knowledge is power. |

The Internet Archive is, like most of these websites, always in flux. It archives much of the global Internet so anyone interested in networked communication should bookmark this. They say on their homepage that they are building a "digial library of Internet sites and other cultural artifacts in digial form." |
