Announcements
Announcement 1: Monday (January 15) and Tuesday (January 16) afternoon we will not have labs. The first lab will be Monday (January 22: L01) and Tuesday (January 23: L02). However, we will have the first Lecture on Wednesday morning (8:30 - 9:45 am), January 17.
Announcement 2: We will have the first quiz on Wednesday, January 31, covering the contents of Lectures 1 to 3 (Chapter 1 to Chapter 3). Check the review questions here
Announcement 3: We will have the second quiz on Monday, February 12, covering the contents of Lectures 4 to 6 (Chapter 4 and Chapter 5). Check the review questions here
Announcement 4: No class next Monday, Feb. 19. We will have the third quiz on Wednesday, February 21, covering the contents of Lectures 7 and 8 (Chapter 6). Check the review questions here
Announcement 4**: Everybody: if you are still in the class, please come to the class on Wednesday, Feb. 21. We will talk about the field trip organization. If you are not sure about the logistic preparations, please email Mike Howell for details. We will leave the campus at 1:30 pm in front of Geoscience Building. Check the field trip schedule for the Death Valley field trip (next weekend, Feb. 23-25)
Announcement 5: We will have the fourth quiz on Wednesday, February 28, covering the contents of Lectures 9 to 10 (Chapter 7). Check the review questions here
Announcement 6: We will have the Midterm exam on Wednesday, March 7, 2007, covering contents of Lectures 1 to 10 (Chapters 1 to 7). Contents of the last lecture (Lecture 11: Life through Time: The Early Days) will not be included in the midterm exam. Check the Midterm review powerpoints here
Announcement 6**: Considering the fact that only two days left before the midterm, make sure you understand the quiz questions. Download the answers for the quiz questions and compare those to your answers and understand why you did not answer correctly. At the same time, come to the review on Monday so that you understand the focus of the midterm questions.
Announcement 7: We will have the fifth quiz on Wednesday, March 28, covering the contents of Lectures 11, 13, 14, and 15 (Chapter 8 and 9). Check the review questions here
Announcement 8: We will have the sixth quiz on Monday, April 9, covering the contents of Lectures 16, 17, and 18 (Chapters 10, 11, and 12). Check the review questions here
Announcement 9: Field trip, Saturday, April 14, 2007: Meet in the front of the Geoscience Building (LEG) at 7:45 am, leave at 8:00 am.
Announcement 10: No Class on Monday, April 16, 2007; Work on your field project.
Announcement 11: We will have the seventh quiz on Monday, April 23, covering contents of Lectures 19-21 (Chapters 13 and 14). Check the review questions here
Announcement 12: We will have the eighth quiz on Wednesday, May 2, covering contents of Lectures 22-24 (Chapters 15-17). Check the review questions here
For those who come to the class on Monday, April 30, you can take the Quiz home and return on Wednesday
Announcement 12**: Final Exam Review: Wednesday, May 2. Final exam will be Wednesday, May 8, 8:00 am to 10:00 am
