Prospective Undergraduate Students:

Undergraduate research experience is highly recommended for students interested in entering graduate school or pursuing careers the healthcare professions (medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, etc.). Limited laboratory space is available for academically outstanding and highly motivated students. Projects normally require a 5-10 hour weekly commitment during the academic year and a full-time effort during the summer. Students with work-study support may be accepted if money is available. In most cases students will earn academic credit for their work. Academic credit is earned through:

BIOL 492: Undergraduate Research

BIOL 493: Undergraduate Seminar

BIOL 496: Special Topics in Biology

Prospective Graduate Students:

What to do if you want to apply to work in the Honey Bee Behavioral Physiology Laboratory

First, please send me a note (michelle.elekonich@unlv.edu) introducing yourself, telling me about your research interests, what research, if any, you have done in the past, and why you would like to work with me.

Second, check out the information about the admission requirements to the School of Life Sciences Graduate Program. To ensure full consideration, applications for the fall semester should be completed by February 1st; applications for the spring semester should be completed by October 1st.
