MUS 375 - Teaching Secondary Music - Instrumental

The purpose of this course is to provide music education students with tools for creating curricula, methods, and materials for their instrumental classroom experiences (middle and high school).  Students will study the teaching strategies, organization and procedures to be used in beginning and advanced instrumental ensembles, with some study of general music at the secondary level.  Each student will demonstrate (through mid- and final exam, assignments, class discussion, and demonstrations) a working knowledge of instrumental music programs to a degree that will enable him/her to teach music to those students.
