Annenberg Political Fact Check
A nonpartisan, nonprofit, "consumer advocate" for voters that aims to reduce the level of deception and confusion in U.S. politics, monitoring the factual accuracy of what is said by major U.S. political players in the form of TV ads, debates, speeches, interviews, and news releases, applying the best practices of both journalism and scholarship, and to increase public knowledge and understanding.

The Central Intelligence Agency – The World Factbook
The World Fact Book is an excellent up-to-date tool for researching countries.

Transparency International
Transparency International is a leading, non-partisan, organization leading the fight against global corruption. A global corruption report is released annually citing the level of corruption in each country.

Federation of American Scientists
FAS is a non-profit organization formed in 1945 by scientists from the Manhattan Project who felt that scientists, engineers and other innovators had an ethical obligation to bring their knowledge and experience to bear on critical national decisions. Their first projects focused on controlling nuclear weapons and research on civilian nuclear power, issues that remain prominent to FAS today. Endorsed by 68 Nobel Laureates in chemistry, economics, medicine and physics, FAS now addresses a range of issues where science and technology analysis is critical. FAS members build on a long history of insisting that rational, evidence-based arguments form the basis of national policy.

Promoting public policy based on limited government, free markets, individual liberty, and peace.

Federal Election Commission (FEC)
Created in 1075 by Congress, the duties of the FEC, which is an independent regulatory agency, are to disclose campaign finance information, to enforce the provisions of the Federal Election Campaign Act (FECA) such as the limits and prohibitions on contributions, and to oversee the public funding of Presidential elections.

Freedom Forum
A nonpartisan, international foundation dedicated to free press, free speech and free spirit for all people. GovTrack.us is an independent website that brings together information about the United States Congress, tracking the status of federal legislation and the activities of your senators and representatives. GovTrack was created by Joshua Tauberer in 2004 and gets its information from a variety of government websites, primarily THOMAS, on a daily basis.

The professional and educational organization representing appointed managers and administrators in local governments throughout the world.

This is the website of the Center for Responsive Politics, a non-partisan, non-profit research group based in Washington, D.C. that tracks money in politics, and its effect on elections and public policy. United for a Fair Economy

The Center for Reproductive Law & Policy, Inc.
The Center for Reproductive Law and Policy (CRLP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting women's equality worldwide by guaranteeing reproductive rights as human rights.

Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS)
A public policy institution dedicated to analysis and policy impact. It also covers key functional areas, such as international finance, the emerging markets, U.S. domestic and economic policy related to the Strengthening of America, and U.S. foreign policy and national security issues.

Within the United Nations, the Organization of American States is a regional agency.

The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC)

Guidestar - National Database of Nonprofit Organizations
Guidestar is a guide for donors, nonprofits and grantmakers. It is run by the Philanthropic Research, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. There are very detailed reports on many nonprofits. The reports often include scanned copies of the organization's IRS Form 990 (Their financial disclosure document). Access is currently free for the public, although access to detailed information requires user registration.
