Violence Against Women in the Ancient Southwest
The major research questions examined in this project include: Do head wounds support a theory of witchcraft persecution in the precontact Southwest and is violence differentially visited upon females (versus males)? Do head wounds correlate with other types of bodily injury and disability? Do head wounds correlate with increasing environmental stress and decreasing resources? Do head wounds differ in size and severity across regions?
