I am interested in the molecular aspects of mushroom body development & function. In particular I am looking at a variety of genes with shared expression patterns in the mushroom bodies. Detailed molecular analysis of these genes, and comparisons between them, should implement new cellular pathways in both how the MB develops as well as its involvement in learning and memory.
