After enjoying Dr. Warren's 'Principles of Psychotherapy' class, I decided to join this research lab to learn more about her studies of body image and eating disorders. I am especially interested in the multicultural aspect of psychological research. My heritage is Native Alaskan and I am from a small town called Kenai, Alaska. After graduate school, I plan to practice therapy and suicide prevention/education with the Native Alaskan population in particular. Jamie Harnik - I graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in December 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. I have worked in the Body Image and Multiculturalism Lab since February 2007. This lab will give me much experience I will use to further my graduate studies, pursuing my PhD in Clinical Psychology in the near future. My interests are cross-cultural psychopathology and ethnicity. Lucy Kamalani - My name is Lucy Kamalani and I am a senior psychology major at UNLV. I am also pursuing a double minor, one in Family Studies and another in Human Services. My interest in research is positive psychology and Keyes model of Mental Health. I want to combine these areas and examine mental health across the life span. After graduate school my goal is to run a community mental health clinic that increases the life chances and health promotion of children, teens, and the families that they live in. Viridiana Linares - I am a Senior here at UNLV and I chose to work with Dr. Warren because she studies body image and multiculturalism.
