Topics Covered:  Elements of probability, types of biological data, sampling, graphical display of data, commonly used distributions, sampling distributions, point estimation, interval estimation, hypothesis testing, nonparametric tests, categorical data analysis, introduction to regression and design of experiments.

MAT 127 or equivalent

Calculators/Computer Software:  The statistical software package Minitab Release 15 will be used in this class.  It is available for use on homework in TBE-A311, CBC-B131, and MSU-209 and by free 30-day trial or semester purchase ($29.99) at http://estore.e-academy.com/minitab.

Class Policies:  Class attendance is expected.  No late assignments, quizzes, or exams will be accepted.
