After volunteering from 1987-1989 for a non-profit
organization in Argentina, I
returned to the states and earned my B.A. degree in Spanish from the University of Utah . I subsequently
obtained my MBA degree from Brigham
Young University's
Marriott School of Management
. I graduated from the University
of Colorado in 1999 with a Ph.D. in Organization Management with emphases
in Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management and a minor in
Organization Communication.
After graduating from the University
of Colorado, I joined the Management
faculty at Western
Illinois University. At WIU I taught courses in Management,
Human Resource Management, Leadership, and Strategic Management. In addition to my teaching duties, I was
also a faculty member in the Learning to Lead
Program , a cross-cultural program within Western
Illinois University's
School of Extended and Continuing Education.
Learning to Lead's primary purpose is to promote and foster the development of
a new generation of leaders within the Hispanic community. Learning to Lead was nominated and selected for the White House
Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanic Americans.
I joined the Management faculty at the University
of Nevada, Las Vegas in the Fall
2002 where I currently teach Organizational Behavior at the MBA and EMBA levels
and undergraduate Human Resource Management courses and am engaged in a variety
of research projects. I am currently
serving as the Program Assessment Coordinator for the Human Resource Management
Major and also serve on the department’s faculty search committee and the
College of Business Academic Standards Committee.
