Additional Initiatives and Efforts

  • Tomorrow's Leaders - developed new teenage program for the City of Las Vegas named 'Tomorrow's Leaders' utilizing the public transit system (inexpensive) and allowing teenagers to travel and learn about the City of Las Vegas. (See remarks from late-Governor and program flyer)
  • Recycling - introduced first formal recycling effort at Nevada State College in 2002-03.
  • Merit Badges - initiated and coordinated small effort for local Boy Scouts and local culinary school to learn and earn Cooking Merit Badge.
  • Educational Supplies - sent boxes of educational supplies for Iraqi schools (www.Iraqischools.com) in 2005. (See Thank You letter)
  • Preserving the Past - When a worldwide call to preserve a dehabilitating World War II concentration camp, Dupalo brought it to the attention of a former student with whom he knew had expressed interest in the subject matter. Dupalo also donated a copy of a map and support material of the MX proposed missile system to the Atomic Testing Museum (ATM).

    He also donated a rare piece of military history to the USAF ADS Thunderbird museum in the form of a Military Payment Certificate (MPC) that featured an earlier Thunderbirds team. (See here)
  • Jury Duty - served as jury foreman in 2003 in district court.
  • Non-Profit Evaluation - served as part of small team for United Way accreditation process in 2001.
